How Does it Work
Benefits for Members
At the Toy Library, you and your children can enjoy hundreds of quality toys, games, and puzzles for only $65.00. Borrow toys just as you would borrow books from a library!
- We offer a HUGE variety of toys that are best suitable for ages
birth – 8 years, and we try to keep up with recent toy trends as much as possible. - We offer several educational toys and tools to help kids enjoy their learning experience.
- We have an annual Christmas party, which is free for all members.
- At Easter and Halloween, we run pre-school events in the town that kids are welcome to participate in.

How We Function
Each member may sign out 1 toy & 1 game, puzzle, or construction toy per child on every visit.
Toys are due back in 2 weeks from the date they were signed out, however, they may be exchanged at any time before they are up for renewal. Requests for renewals may be left on our answering machine or called in during business hours. If the requested toy is reserved, we will contact you.
There is a list of contents on every toy that we attempt to keep updated. We will try to count the toys as they go out and when they come back to ensure all pieces are accounted for.
Pricing
- One Year Family Membership: $65 plus $5 battery fee
- Temporary membership:$10 per week
- Party Package Rental: $8 for party weekend or 3 days
- Cake Pan Rental: $5.00 non-members, $3 members for one week
- Santa Costume Rental: $50 per day
- Bunny or Clown Costume Rental: $30 per day
- Battery Powered Vehicles Rental: $5 rider fee per rental
Cleaning Toys
We ask that toys are returned clean. The Okotoks toy library goes by the proper health and safety guidelines for cleaning and disinfecting toys. It is reccommended that toys be washed or wiped down with a (100ppm) bleach solution. This works out to be (30 ml or 2 tbsp) of bleach per gallon of water (4.5 liters or 18 cups).
Late Fines
There is a late fine of $1.00 per day that toys are not returned with a maximum fine of $5.00. These fines must be paid before you are permitted to continue signing toys out.
Lost or Broken Toys
For smaller toys, we charge a deposit of $1.00 for every missing or broken piece. This money will be reimbursed to you if the piece is returned or replaced.
If a large toy goes missing or is badly damaged, we will ask that you be responsible to replace it.
